ReplyDeleteI recently finished reading Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. I'll admit to not knowing about this book until seeing the preview for the upcoming movie. Being a big fan of Hitchcockian thrillers, I couldn't resist picking up the book before the movie came out. This book is simply fantastic. It grabs you from the opening pages and only builds the intensity until the books climatic ending. What I enjoyed most about this book was the fantastic pacing, well defined characters, and amazing descriptions of the island and it's locations. These characters feel real, and the island seems alive. This is a classic investigation mystery mixed with One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. If that appeals to you, you will absolutely love this book.
